Future Residents – Living Learning Communities
The Pathways Community
The Pathways Community is designed to provide new students who are undecided about their major or career with opportunities to explore different majors and assist them in making a successful transition to the University of Tennessee. By taking two classes in common and living in the same residence hall, you will get to know each other quickly, make friends, form study groups, and have the option to participate in out-of-class activities. What a great way to start your UT experience!
As a member of the Pathways Community, you will:
- Enroll in First Year Studies 101, a small seminar which includes only the students in your community, and focuses on exploring your major/career interests, time management, and other important college success skills.
- Take Psychology 110, General Psychology, a three credit hour course which satisfies a university general education requirement for graduation.
- Interact with an upper-division peer mentor who attends your seminar and facilitates out-of-class activities.
- Make connections-with your community members, instructors, peer mentor, residence hall staff, Student Success Center staff-that can contribute to your success at UT.
Who May Live in the Pathways Community?
You may apply for membership in the Pathways Community if you:- Are entering the University as a first-year student in the fall
- Are classified as an undecided student
