Tennessee Living
Tennessee Living - Check-In Fall 2008
Welcome to University Housing
Welcome to University Housing! Our students enjoy living on campus in the heart of where the action is taking place. Whether youre in class or out, University Housing wants to make sure youre getting the most out of your Tennessee Living experience. Since you will spend more time out of class than in the classroom, the housing program is important to us and to you. Living on campus is more than finding a place to sleep and study.

Personalizing your room
Many students find that the rooms are small and two peoples' belongings will completely fill the room. Contacting roommates before coming to campus and being honest with what you are bringing helps this situation. Second, realize that students today require more possessions, but most of our rooms were built before 1970. Just because you plan to move to campus in an SUV does not mean you have to fill all of the cargo space! Packing wisely after consulting with your roommate will be appreciated by everyone involved!
We encourage you to make your room a home away from home. Here is a list of suggested items to bring with you---
(Return to top)Renter's Insurance
The University does not assume responsibility for loss or damage to personal property. Most thefts occur when residents leave their room doors unlocked and property unattended. Keeping your room door locked at all times is your best defense against theft. Additionally, we recommend that you take any expensive items home during long breaks when the buildings are closed.
After determining what it would cost to replace your more expensive belongings, check to see if your family homeowner's insurance would cover the loss. If not, we suggest that you purchase additional personal property insurance.
