Disabled Student Accommodations  
 

If you have any physical limitations that will require special accommodations, please attach a note to the application describing the limitations. Students with physical disabilities will be given comparable and accessible housing. Laundry Facilities. We provide laundry facilities in each apartment community. The washers and dryers are operated by card readers using your VolCard. The cost is 75 cents per load in both washers and dryers. You must open an All-Star account with a minimum balance of $10.00 for your VolCard to work.

DART (Debit Account Replenishing Terminals). Deposit money to a UTK Vending/Dart Card account. This option only requires entry of the vending card money. Vending/Dart Cards can be used in Dining Services, Bookstore, Vending Machines, Copiers and Laundry Facilities on campus. Volcard Deposits

Maintenance Requests. Preventive maintenance staff are assigned to each community to make necessary repairs in apartments and in common areas. If you need an item fixed in your apartment, complete a maintenance request form at the resident manager’s office. Maintenance staff will leave a card in your apartment to notify you that they were in the room to make repairs.

Telephone Connections. All telephone service is provided through Telephone Services. Both telephone and Internet services are available. Call (865) 974-8006 for more information on these services.

Cable TV. Cable television is provided by COMCAST, the local cable network company. Contact the cable company directly to purchase cable service.

Parking and Transportation. Parking is available in each apartment community for each legal adult resident assigned to an apartment. You must complete an application on-site and receive your parking registration sticker. Each vehicle must display a current state vehicle registration and be in operating condition. If you will be driving to campus, you will also want to purchase a commuter parking registration in addition to the apartments registration. There is also bus service available to and from the apartment communities.
